Without any book swappers or harliquinns to meet, I roamed Syracuse for a day trying to find everything worthwhile that could be reached on foot. I found the University district almost by accident and later took photos of various buildings, found Lafayette Park, Clinton Square and the Armory District.
Oddities on the street )
I eventually went to PJ's Pub and tried Yuengling, on the recommendation of Barack Obama. It was smooth, good enough to be Canadian. I had two pints of it.

I managed to get shuttle service back to the bus terminal for tomorrow, which is good. I had to pay a cab to get here, but if I can avoid doing the same on my way back I can save a fair deal which will find better use in NYC.

The hotel is the Parkview. It's from the mid-20s and retains charm, but the room key slot will sometimes fail to unlock the door five times in a row, then work on the sixth try. I took all the precautions, never put the card next to a cellphone or anything that would ruin the magnetism, but still. At least the place is clean and air conditioned.
