Taking things apart

Deconstruction
I have dismantled those parts of the enclosure that were made of cube shelving, plastic joints and small lengths of green wire. Now, once I find another place to put the cage furniture, I can chuck the coroplast and introduce a vacuum cleaner to The Carpet That Time Forgot.
Quasi-job search
I also checked out elance, and will do so again. I can't bring myself to delete the account, yet every job either seems dodgy, doesn't inspire any confidence from me (perhaps I need to sharpen up by posting reviews again) or needs a W-2 form. All of the above are cheap as hell or, failing that, have ridiculously tight deadlines.
Painter available
I wonder if anywhere downtown needs volunteers to put the city back together again. I could feel better if I thought I was doing something relevant to help. I am qualified for simple painting with rollers and also cutting trim with hand-brushes. I have never put in a window, which rules out the bulk of what's needed.
Bleeder available
I realized that despite my desire to keep out of town for two weekends, I'm heading right in there for a scheduled blood donation on July 2. Still, I'm heading right back home again afterward, so I don't foresee splurging.
CN struggle
Yet another long recruitment shift. It's the same story today as yesterday: one nation leaves, another joins. The leaver was large enough to outweigh all the newbies I've brought in so far, though. The previous leaver was the first newbie I had brought in. Population's holding steady at 35, I suppose; something like this will happen again when Joffrey is gone, but at least he got himself nuked halfway to oblivion in a private duel so as to make his departure more gradual.
Deconstruction re-visited
While my experiences with hedgehogs might make me a good candidate for rescues or mature pet adoptions, I simply can't have another critter at this time. Apart from needing time to get my own life back in order again, the experience has cost me a lot. I would want to be able to budget for the exact same cascade of mishaps if I ever thought about doing this again. It's also a better kind of pet for when you're anchored to one place for a while, but I want the possibility of pulling up anchor for a time. This is why I am so hastily taking apart the cage and not anticipating any need for the furniture.
