G20 and other things

It's good to be done work for another couple of days.
Before I get into the usual stuff, I want to point out for the benefit of concerned friends overseas that if you start to hear about nasty G20 riot stuff on the news chances are slim I have any involvement.
The most important reason is that Toronto is a ridiculous sprawl. It's not NYC at all--not as dense, generally. It's just geographically expansive. You can probably be many places in Toronto and not notice a change beyond crappy traffic--but wait, that's how it often is anyway. Any trouble is going to be in a particular place or stretch, but not where I will be.
On top of that, I don't even live in Toronto. Unlike the aforementioned person in Scarborough, I don't even live near any of the furthest ends of the subway/LRT system. I have the luxury of avoiding it much like you might avoid Sydney during the Olympic Games. This will all ruin one or two of my weekends, but that should be it.
Day
I avoided work on the premise that I would just watch an afternoon baseball game and get things done between 4 and 5 at the latest.
The game went 14 innings, or for the non-savvy, five extra. 2-2 for the longest time, all scored with home runs. Each starter did well, and each bullpen flexed its muscle. Finally, the Jays won with a phenomenon called "consecutive hits that stay in the ballpark". Weird.
Following the end of that, I needed to help with dinner. I didn't get the work done until 9.
There's a Marmaduke movie? I shouldn't be surprised.
