Date: 2011-07-05 03:11 pm (UTC)The word "cottaging" with those same connotations is just starting to take hold here, I think. Matter of fact, Toronto's mayor skipped the Pride Week festivities for the very reason that he traditionally goes to the cottage with his family at the same time every year, and whoops, that gay pride parade just happens to fall on the designated time, so sorry... breaking a tradition of mayors who made sure they were there.
I have picked the term up with a bit of snark intended. I'm not going up there to dodge the LGBTQ community, especially seeing as how I went home a day early and attended the festivities. :)
