I'm keeping an eye on this. South Sudan was featured prominently in one of my fourth-year courses, and nothing I'm hearing about the situation is much of a surprise. I'm actually surprised the north of the country allowed this referendum to occur by any means, but it sounds like a lot of people on the outside worked hard to make it happen.

This is all Chinese, they are pumping oil in Southern Sudan, they need quiet in the region and they are funded.
