mellotron_breakfastI have reached a point where every originally planned scene is written, and I suspect the remainder of what I had in mind will reach a little over 50K. That leaves me realizing that with so many scenes and chapters as one piece of action after another, there is probably a little more untapped room for dialogue and character development. I just want to make sure it goes in logical places, instead of just being stuffed haphazardly in places to pad the word count. I suppose, since my villain hasn't been seen since a few chapters ago and it's been all minions since, I ought to have the reader catch up with this mad individual being mad.
I will probably switch over to the boxing story and up that word count, as I have only written round one, while meditating on what to add to the rest of The Exile Contingency. There is simply a point I'm not willing to go past because I wanted to put it in the next book and don't want to end with too many things resolved, so things to add are things in the middle of what I already have.
Meanwhile, I have had a headache for a long time and probably caught the same cold as my family members. I went through a 27507 word file last night, and my fingers felt rickety. I got paid, so some disaster has been averted, but only on a temporary basis. Finally, I have been waiting for my supervisor to call, and the only call was to say she would call later. Later has come and gone. I hope things are clarified in time for me to decide what I am doing.
On Wednesday, I go in for an MRI.
