Triumph and tragedy
May. 6th, 2011 10:22 pmIt looks like I'll be twice as busy of an uncle: another kid on the way. Happiness ensues.
To balance it out, I got disturbing news from my gradually-estranged workplace. A kid named Noah who I don't know because he went to the Maple dojo, has ended up with Idiopathic Refractory Status Epilepticus. He has, basically, one long (series of) seizure(s) of unknown origin.
Traditionally it is defined as one continuous unremitting seizure lasting longer than 30 minutes, or recurrent seizures without regaining consciousness between seizures for greater than 30 minutes.
They're having a pizza party to raise money for it, but in any case if you want to drop a donation that way let them know Kosan Dylan sent you. I'm going to see what I can do; I would need a ride to this pizza party, and even then, couldn't eat the pizza, but I would happily donate through the dojo.
