Cinematic ethical issues (vague SPOILERS behind the cut)

I saw "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", since I won the hardcover at the Small Press Book Fair once.

Cinematography had odd depth of field at times, making me wonder if it was deliberately shot in low light/wide aperture conditions.
