Looks like a fun neighbourhood and an interesting day out. And a happy iguana, too. *grin*

I am impressed by performance art guy outside Model Citizen - was he holding that one pose all that time, do you know?

I heard he had been there for eight hours. I didn't see him move terribly much, though at one point he was offered a rolled up towel and did move his head, so at least we know he's alive. :P

Kensington is a fun place to be in Toronto during the day, certainly a place to see if you come for a visit. The last Sunday of every warm month (up to September, I think) features such displays. I didn't even capture all of it; the drum performances and other scheduled things. It gets sketchy very late at night; in fact, at 4 AM that day three people were shot, and the police were done with the crime scene and had cleaned it up, and locals were intent on not letting a few bad apples spoil their special day.

But I suspect if you visited you wouldn't be deep into the place at such a late time anyway, and would instead enjoy the day. :)

Erk! Well, I hope the shooting victims were okay, and I guess it's good that it was sorted out before the festival. Even Melbourne has its places that are nice to visit during the day, but worrying to walk around alone at night...

I'll have to remember that - or at least liaise with you - if getting up to Toronto looks like an option. But then, you'd be the first person to know about such a trip, were we planning it. *hug*

Eight hours?? I can't help thinking that's art that would lead to one awful crick in the neck!

Lots of great cities have their bad spots at night. Montreal seemed quite rough around the edges but it's a great place too. Montreal had nice safety in numbers during Kinetik, the annual industrial festival, because the crazy looking people are probably safer than the actually crazy yet normal looking people.

The shooting victims all survived with injuries, probably the best thing you can hope for after being shot. I haven't heard much new about it.
