I officially gave up on giving Polkaroo the hard copy, even though I know where he's going to be on April 1--technically somewhere I won't be. I did this by mailing the hard copy of AAManuscript to myself, in a registered self-addressed waterproof plastic-bubblewrap envelope. That'll be hidden in a safe place with the receipt/proof of registration once it gets back to me.
I still have the other one in hard copy, now free of its proofreader. The problem is, as this proofreader noted, parts of it need you to have read the other one first or the reader is left confused. I haven't yet created a Corum Jhaelen Irsei, last survivor of the Vadhagh race... introduction to each book, and failed to put things in place that allow the book to stand as well on its own as it should, so there's no point in giving him this one in its current form.
He's welcome to get a signed first edition when these things are published. When, not if.
Today -> proper passport photos, incl. 1 BYID photo in the same style.
